The quietest rooms in the building: walnut walls, one window onto the hillside a few metres away, and no road or lake to watch.

Two metres of stone
About 18 square metres, a little smaller than the rest because the west wall is two metres of stone with the hill behind it. Walnut panels, a lamp on each side of the bed and a heavy curtain.
The first night at 1,800 metres can be short and broken. Dark and silence help with that. It's why these five fill first with people who have stayed before.

Who asks for these
Night-shift nurses, light sleepers, anyone who spent the day on the glacier and wants ten hours.
