All four kinds of room

Nine rooms facing south up Val Fex

Fex side rooms

Sun on the bed from mid-morning, even in December, when the village falls into shadow by three. Larch headboards and a writing table set square to the window.

Larch and a writing table

Around 20 square metres. The headboards were cut from larch felled above Isola in 1998, and the wood still smells of it when the heating comes on. There's a chair you can actually work in and a lamp that clips to the headboard.

Two of these rooms are on the ground floor, a single step up from the hall. Ask for them if the stair is a problem: the shower in each has a fold-down seat and a rail.

The trade-off

South light means the road side. The post bus passes about twice an hour until half past eleven, and with double glazing it's a hum rather than a noise.

Light sleepers sometimes move to the slope side after one night. The desk doesn't mind being asked.

Play at Trail & Sensor happens in one cellar room and nowhere else. The Sensor Room takes no bets online, keeps no player accounts and moves no money through this website.
